Student Step by Step Guide

STEP 1 – SIGN UP

STEP 2 – APPLY FOR AN INTERNSHIP

  • Click ‘Browse Internships’.
  • Search internships by Title, Organization, City, or Date Posted.
  • Click on an internship to learn more about it.
  • When you’ve found an internship you’re interested in, click ‘Apply Now’.
  • Upload your résumé (and provide a link to a portfolio of work if applicable). Click `Save and Continue` and ‘Submit’.

STEP 3 – CHILL AND WAIT

  • While waiting for an organization to review your application, feel free to browse and apply for other internships. Please keep in mind however, that while we really appreciate your enthusiasm, you will only be able to participate in one internship this year.

STEP 4 – GET MATCHED

  • The organization may contact you for an interview or an enrollment process.
  • If selected for an internship, the organization will draft and sign the letter of agreement – a contract including the deliverables of the internship and the skills you will develop as a result of the internship.
  • You will then be prompted by email to sign into the CNiP website and accept the letter of agreement. But please note: paperwork here is important! In order for your internship to officially begin and to be eligible to receive the aware, you will need to accept the letter of agreement through the CNiP website.

STEP 5 – INTERNSHIP IN PROGRESS

  • Once you have accepted the letter of agreement your internship can begin! Huzzah! We’re excited for the experience you’ll have during your internship!
  • Before your internship ends, please remember to upload your proof of enrolment document and wait for approval of the document.

STEP 6 – AWARD APPLICATION

  • When the internship is over, you will fill out completion documents and we will notify your organization so they can arrange your award payment.
  • Once your proof of enrolment has been uploaded and approved, and your organization has submitted your End of Internship Declaration, you can submit your Award Request.

STEP 7 – RECEIVE YOUR AWARD

  • Once you download your certificate of completion, we will notify the Organization that your award is approved.
  • Please allow a couple of days to process your payment and stay in contact with the organization who is paying your award.
  • For any issues receiving award payments, the first step is to reach out to your contact from your matched organization. If you require additional support, you can reach out to us at [email protected]. If you reach out to us before contacting the organization, please note that we will ask you to reach out to the organization first.

STEP 8 – SURVEY AND CERTIFICATE!

  • Please fill in the final survey so we can learn about your experience and implement your suggestions in the future! You will need to complete this step so you can move on to the completion section were you will be able to download your certificate. This certificate is an official document that endorses your participation and the skills you put into practice during your CNiP internship! Don’t forget to download it and to take a look at the skill map that tracked all your progress.
